But now things are different, Life has taken a different direction. Not sure If I was ready for it, but somehow things haven’t been my way.. And because of this, Blogging suffered and boy ‘o’ boy it suffered big time. No more excuses, DailyApps will survive and to date it remains my most prized possession.

So starting today, I am doing a Take Two of DailyApps. Complete with a fresh new design thanks to the awesome work by vfxdude. Along with the theme refresh I’ve added Disqus Comments which will now allow you to comment on blog posts more easily and make conversation threads more interesting.

Starting today, there will be a huge influx of new posts, and you will very soon have my Reviews on Windows7, Snow Leopard, Ubuntu Karmic Koala etc. Oh yeah the very popular Hack Attack Series will also continue.

And there will be some awesome giveaways this holiday season as I well, because I missed the 2nd Birthday of DailyApps in July this year.. Looks like an exciting year of blogging ahead.. I am up for the challenge, and I am definitely gonna hope that the goals that I outlined for 2009 are achieved. I know it is impossible now, but you never say anything is impossible do you?

Today Last.fm decided to take wraps off its new design they’ve been working on since May. I was not a part of the beta but still at first glance the new design looks little different from the one we saw during the beta period. Looking through the Last.fm forums I found that the beta design was much criticized and the design that we see now is after tons of user feedback.

I was a Last.fm user for quite some time before I stopped using it for unknown reasons. In the past Last.fm always had a confusing navigational structure that for some reason never got you to what you wanted. Looks like Last.fm team has worked hard to resolve the navigational issues that plagued the old design and the new design is marked improvement over the older one.

Take a look at the screenshots yourself and you will see why the new design is much cleaner and more functional than the old design..

Surely the new design is more clean and functional than the original Last.fm. But so far the new design has evoked nothing but reactions favoring the extreme negative.

Some users have gone to the lengths of calling the new design as Myspace clones and they have expressed their dissatisfaction over it. Here are few opinions about the new design…

Last.fm used to be about the music we listen. So when I visit someone’s profile, I see what their tastes in music are. This was the reason I liked last.fm – the musical revolution, right?

There is absolutely no need to destroy one of the best working and most appealing sites that’s been praised for years, without any option of a decline. Quite simply, horrible service and a now horrible site.

A lot of people have asked Last.fm an option to switch back to the old design.. If you don’t like the new design voice your opinion in this forum thread, hopefully Last.fm will listen to its audience.

Also give a try to this Userstyle that gives Last.fm some new features while preserving the identity of the old design.

And to conclude, I actually like the new design, but I feel that Last.fm has lost much of its identity its built up over the years with this design. Maybe an extended beta would have been a better option..

 The New Homepage. One of the best homepages of a blog network I have ever seen all my life as a blogger. Just love the way the logo is positioned and the nice light rays in the background.

The Network homepage. This page shows all the recent entries from the member blogs. A Very beautiful header, that stands out on the page. There is a glitch though, they should be removing the banner saying that Ali2 launches on 9th October. The page is visually pleasing, and it is extremely easy to read the stuff written on the page.

 my.9rules Homepage. my.9rules is the social network of the 9rules Network. This page has been redesigned extremely well, and is definitely the best page on the new 9rules website. You can share interesting stuff with other 9rulers on my.9rules.

Overall the new design is refreshing, and I must say 9rules is one of the elite Blog Networks, where every blogger wants to be a part of. I am now going to take part in the 9rules community actively and find a lot more interesting stuff to write about.

The New Version has a number of new features that were requested by many users on del.icio.us. The New del.icio.us features a new search engine, better bookmarking and tagging and lots more that should have been there on del.icio.us. This is one of those few redesigns in a while that really improve upon the original design.

Welcome to the All New Paypal Beta. This is the welcome page telling what is new in the New Paypal.

The New Homepage. Many things have been realigned. I also see that Paypal has done a brilliant job in highlighting the most important stuff and it really looks cool. I also like the location of the login box.




After logging in, this is the first page you are greeted with. All focus now is on your account and the new streamlined navigation is easy on the eye and also user friendly.

The Send Money Screen. Its minimal and the nice little Orange button is catchy down there. It really makes me feel like sending money to someone.

The Request money option. Though rarely used it has a similar feel to it just like the Send Money screen. And I just love the new orange buttons.

All in all it is a fantastic redesign of the Paypal that has forever remained as the preferred option to send money on the internet. The new design is also fast than the previous and the choice of colors is simply awesome. Please share your thoughts on the new Paypal design.
