Yahoo Caves In! Partners With Google For Ads

Finally Yahoo decided to cave in and has decided to partner with Google to display relevant alongside its search results in the US and Canada. This surely is the beginning of the end of the ambitious Panama project.

If you remember Yahoo had announced a similar deal a couple of months back that was more of a test to see the returns from the ads by Google. From what I’ve heard, Yahoo was extremely satisfied with the returns and that’s why this deal is happening today.

Yahoo has spent a lot on Panama, the advertising platform that was built to compete with Google Adwords. But somehow Google managed to stay on, and Yahoo has seen less ad dollars compared to Google on its search advertising front.

Reliance Partners with Microsoft to Introduce IPTV in India

A Lot of Indians have been waiting for ages for IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) to be introduced in India, but finally the wait is now Over. Reports have surfaced regarding a partnership of Reliance Communication and Microsoft to introduce IPTV in India

Reliance Communication will invest about US$ 500 Million in this joint venture. IPTV will first be launched in Mumbai and then Delhi by 2008.

IPTV is a technology that makes TV interactive and enabled the user to connect their Internet to TV. Thus you can record programme, as well as play games with XBox 360 technology. The announcement was made by Anil D Ambani, chairman, Reliance Communications, and Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer of Microsoft. Reliance Communications shall have the exclusive deployment right for the platform in India.
