email has grown leaps and bounds since the time it started. From a meager 2mb storage to a whopping 2gb storage, from cluttered interfaces to clutter free interfaces. But email still remains popular in the hands of gmail and yahoo.

There has not been much contribution from the open source apps particularly, Horde or SquirrelMail. These apps have been at a standstill, both in terms of features and appearance, for nearly three years. But that is all set to change with the arrival of Litepost.

Litepost is the future of webmail if I can say. Litepost is continuously developing. Being open source it has a great community support. Right now they are in beta so it will be quite a little time before a release usable by the general public comes out.
