Bittorrent goes to Content Delivery Through CDN

Well the Word that you are all used to hearing by now, Torrents will no longer be only associated with Illegal content obtained from sites like Mininova and Pirate Bay. Now the parent company i.e. BitTorrent is trying its hand at delivering content of Big Media Companies through the Bittorrent Protocol. Bittorrent DNA (Delivery Network Accelerator) as the new CDN (Content Delivery Network) will be called, will aim to provide big media companies and online Video providers, to reduce the Bandwidth costs with P2P information sharing technology.

The basic principle of DNA is the same as what Bittorrent already does, the only big difference is how you download and consume the content. All you need to do is just get the Bittorrent Client (About 330KB). Once installed when you visit a DNA enabled site, you can download all the content from the DNA enabled site and by using the P2P technology you are reducing costs for the Big Media Companies.

Demonoid is back – But not ready for Prime Time as Yet

After nearly a week of being down, Demonoid is back up and running, but there are issues that are being ironed out as we speak here. If you are wondering why Demonoid was down, then here is the official response to the downtime.

We received a letter from a lawyer representing the CRIA, they were threatening with legal action and we need to start blocking Canadian traffic because of this. Thanks for your understanding, and sorry for any inconvenience.

I am sure many of the Bittorrent users worldwide would be happy with the return of Demonoid into action, but the bad news is that, Canadian users have no access to the site anymore, as said in the official response.
