Intel Launches An Online Community to Get Suggestions for its Chips

Intel is finally taking the long road down to Web 2.0. Things have really changed a lot nowadays with big companies creating communities to discuss their products and get tips and suggestions from its loyal user base. First it was Dell who launched the IdeaStorm Website and now its Intel with its online community called vProExpert.

“We are trying to take the online community and snap it into our end-user feedback [mechanism],” said Josh Hilliker, community manager of the site, called the Intel vPro Expert Center. “We’re going to open up to the community to tell us what they want. We’re going to take this and put it right back into silicon and announce new features.”

While I really like the idea but in the end the communities opinion on chips should be limited to geeks only and not the lay users that we usually see on IdeaStorm.
