According to Techcrunch Flickr will very soon be getting basic photo editing tools from Picnk, that happens to be one of the most popular sites that edit photos. This when implemented would mean that Flickr users get a host of ways to edit their photos. I am sure that will be a great hit with the users, since the current photo editing tools on Flickr are limited to Image rotation and cropping.

Picknik on Flickr would mean, I can edit photos using the powerful Picnik photo editor and edit my photos. Flickr Users can do more than just rotating their photos on a new Flickr photo editor which includes Picnik’s flash based photo editor. After editing, users can either add it as a new photo to their album or overwrite the existing photo (pro users only). The integration is expected to finish in the next few months.

This brings me back to serious question. This feature has been one of the most requested on Flickr for ages now, and I wonder why Yahoo didn’t bother to implement until now. I guess a better option would be to acquire Picnik and integrate it tightly with Flickr.

I can’t wait to see photo editing in my Flickr Account, Come on Yahoo, do something fast. !

Adobe the maker of the image manipulation software of professionals will very soon be launching Photoshop Express that will mimic the functionality of the Desktop version of Photoshop. While the Express version will not be extremely powerful, it would have some basic to intermediate effects that should be enough for an average guy who wants to edit his photos without having to install the bulky Photoshop software on your desktop.

While not much is known about Photoshop Express right now John Nack from Adobe has posted a screenshot of the Photoshop Express and from what I can see it does really look like a promising product. What does this mean to other online Image Editors like Picnic and Fauxto.. They might find the going tough to compete with a biggie like Adobe. Afterall Photoshop is a household name for image editors and the brand is going to help Adobe in a big way.

Well here is the screenshot that I promised to give you :

How Many times did you wish that you could recolor your old collection of black and white photos? But thought that, it was not possible. Well not anymore, with Recolored you can recolor black and white photos to shiny new color photos. Sounds interesting then read on,

Now you might be wondering how on earth is that thing possible. Traditionally recoloring was done by hand and it involved a lot of hardwork and time. But not anymore..

Recolored uses sophisticated algorithms to process digital images, but it needs some help to complete the process. Using brush strokes the user indicates which colors different objects in the image should have. The graphical user interface sports several tools and functions that helps the user draw strokes and select fitting colors in an efficient manner. When the user is done the software takes over and propagates the colors from the brush strokes into the rest of the image. Recolored uses the grayscale intensities from the original to accurately blend in colors, and it takes care to mix colors appropriately near object boundaries.

Recolored supports all the popular image formats like jpeg, png, bmp etc.. Here are some screenshots for you to ponder over..

Recolored is a 21day trial software and can be downloaded from here.
