Remember the Milk, one of the best Online Task management services is now fully integrated into GMail. The Integration of RTM into GMail is so good that you’ll never again need to visit RTM again. Email integration of this kind is always welcome, because I can do everything from Emails, to planning my tasks, and just about everything from a single interface. On a side note Remember the Milk integrates pretty well into other Google Services like Google Calendar, and Offline support via Google Gears. Remember The Milk for Gmail is a Firefox extension that allows you to manage your tasks in Gmail (complete, postpone, and edit tasks), add new tasks (and connect them with your emails, contacts, and Google Calendar events), automatically add tasks for starred messages or specific labels, and much more!

Well Google has always been a believer of the KISS (Keep it Simple, Stupid) principle, and that is the reason why almost everything from the Google stable has a minimal design. Well if you have got yourself bored of the default Google search layout, then get yourself ready for a completely different Google Search page thanks to an amazing Greasemonkey script, Google Search Makeover.

Click on the screenshot above to see the various modifications that have been made to the default search layout. The script organizes the results into two columns, numbers them, grabs each website’s icon, and much more. The new look is not visually appealing, but also does away with the need to scroll vertically to see the results. The results have been organized for quick access. The most notable feature has to be the absence of Page numbers from the bottom. It has instead been moved onto Upper Right corner of the screen.

Well the Script really is feature rich, and I would like to highlight some of them :

Well the script does come with its own bugs and problems. For eg. Site advisor often defaults to the “unsafe” status for me. That’s why you see all those cross marks in the Screenshot. Another bug is the time it takes to format the layout. This is considerable in pages with a large number of results, say 50 or more. Other than that, the script has been a pleasure, and I just love it.

Sites with a lot of static information — Wikipedia, any API documentation, web-based email — would be great to be able to use when no internet connection is available. But what if you’re a user that always has an internet connection? Then adding Gears to a site doesn’t do much, right? Wrong. Imagine your favorite website is now stored on your computer, and it syncs whenever there’s altered content. Whenever you look at the site, your browser is grabbing everything straight from your hard drive. Did you just make a search for your best friend on Facebook? Don’t wait 5 seconds the next time that search runs, have the results immediately! Meanwhile, save the webmasters’ precious bandwidth/server power!

Here’s the Greasemonkey script for Wikipedia (requires Firefox + Greasemonkey + Gears). For each Wikipedia article you want to save, click on “cache page” and the script will save the text and the images. It would be nice to make it work with any site.
