Knack is a platform beat ‘em up video game published by Sony Computer Entertainment and developed by Japan Studio in cooperation with game director Mark Cerny for the PlayStation 4 video game console, for which it is a launch title, and what a launch title it is.

The game resolves around a war which has been brought against mankind by a the species known as Goblins. A human doctor, who studied ancient relics from a long lost civilization for many years, finally found a way to bind them together and give them consciousness. The result was Knack, a creature with mysterious powers.

For example, he can incorporate more relics into his body as he finds them, which allows him to transform from a three-foot tall creature into a gigantic wrecking machine. The doctor believes that Knack will be an invaluable asset in the war against the Goblins.

Whilst it isn’t the deepest of story lines, the silly little adventure is a huge amount of fun to play through, especially with the unique game play the game incorporates, whilst the game looks like your average plat forming brawler, it does actually need some finesse and strategy.

Sure, you only have a three-hit combo and you only get three super moves, which would be repetitive at times, if it wasn’t for the difficulty it requires to charge them, but having to kite multiple enemies around requires a huge amount of strategy.

The visuals and sound are also on par with its quirky story line, which isn’t a bad thing, as they just help contribute to why knack is so good. Although the game does have a couple of faults here and there, with spaced out checkpoints and camera issues, it is defiantly the launch game that will be remembered in the future, so why not pick it up now!
