Yahoo! Might Reject Microsoft's Bid Tomorrow

The Wall Street Journal believes that Yahoo! will decline the $44.6 Billion Offer made by Microsoft to acquire it tomorrow. Should this happen tomorrow, it might set some wildfires tomorrow, as this would probably be considered as a bold move by Yahoo. Yahoo has said that it will not consider any offer made by Microsoft under 40$ a share. Over a series of meetings, the Yahoo board believes that this offer seriously undermines the true value of Yahoo. If at all Yahoo pushes for atleast 40$ a share, this would... Read The Rest →

[Stealth Mode] Yahoo Working on Flickr Video

Amidst all the media frenzy on the Yahoo acquisition, and the protesting Flickr Users opposing the Micr0s0ft takeover, we have yet another rumor from Dan Faber at ZDNet who believes that Flickr would be debuting its video service in the coming months. This isn’t all that surprising, its been there forever in the rumor mills but its timing has something interesting, considering the impending hostile bid from Microsoft. As I’ve already mentioned before this deal isn’t a good idea for the Web2.0 culture, that Yahoo has given us for... Read The Rest →

What Does A Combined Microsoft Yahoo Look Like?

Hot on the heels of the $44.6 Billion Offer made by Microsoft to Buy Yahoo, the web is going crazy with discussions on this. This deal if takes place, could well be the defining moment of Internet in 2008. This deal has large ramifications, beyond just about you and me can think of. I’m not entirely sure, if this deal makes sense for Microsoft. The only reason Microsoft seems to be running behind Yahoo is to beat Google in Search and Online Advertising. The Bid seems to be a good... Read The Rest →

Rumor : Google to Partner Dell to Launch an iPhone Competitor

When Google first unveiled Android, the mobile OS way back in November, something inside me told, “Hey, Wait this is not what Google would want, they will want to have a complete phone”. Interestingly the rumor mills are abuzz saying that Google might partner with Dell to launch a new handset that would come loaded with Android. Everyone seems to be touting the gPhone as the next iPhone and its chief competitor. While Android is still under heavy development, and a final version is expected sometime this year. It makes... Is Qtrax Heading for the Deadpool In Its First Week?

The much hyped Qtrax (read as disgusting) that released yesterday to much fanfare, had one of the most disastrous launches a product or a service could have probably asked for. The people behind Qtrax thought that it was Ok for a web company to lie to its user base. When I first read about Qtrax, my first thought was “hey this could probably take everyone by storm”. I put up a note on my To-Do list and made it a point to check them out once they launched. But things... Read The Rest →

Smugmug Private Photos are for Anyone to See

Apparently the popular photo sharing site Smugmug has a huge security hole that could allow anyone with a bit of common sense to access private photos on Smugmug. The basic problem here is that Smugmug uses URL’s for public and private galleries in a way that can be easily guessed. And whats even more shameful is that the people behind the site are aware of this issue, but they seem to be too keen to say that this is intended behavior. If seeing private photos via publicly accessible URL’s is... Read The Rest →

One Click Rules 'em All! Get Rid of all Facebook App Requests

One of the biggest problems with Facebook is that, app requests keep pouring in at a rate more than you can keep up with. I had over 250 invites to various Facebook apps ranging all the way from boring to fun. I just wanted to ignore all of the app requests in a simple elegant solution, but there was no “Ignore All” button to be found anywhere on the app requests page. Clicking the Ignore button on every single app request would have taken eternity for me to clear them... Read The Rest →
