True story, bro. I was getting stressed with blogging so I said to myself, "If I am so stressed about this, why don't I just get a real job?" Lol. If blogging feels like a real job (at $600.00 a month) which is what I make, I may as well just get a real job and make more money. Lol.

If you want to be a successful blogger, you have to really have something different to offer. Hell, you have to have something to offer, period. When you have something different to offer, and you go viral with it, you only really need to do 1 article a week to keep your subscribers wanting more. Better yet, just post 1 video a week, which is even easier.

The key to successful blogging is choosing a niche market, and dominating said niche. How do you dominate your niche? You do something nobody else has done.

For example: I am building muscle mass with P90X. 99% of people think P90X is a weight loss program, but I am here to prove otherwise. Unlike other fitness "gurus" who just write articles others have already written, I will base my content on my personal experience.

My viral video will be my before and after results. With this video placed on Youtube, I will send people to my newsletter subscription page. Once signed up, I will be able to sell P90X, along with other fitness products.... All because of 1 simple video.

Again, if you have something amazing to offer (in my case, going from 155 pounds to 195 pounds of muscle), and show people how and why you're different and real, you will be successful.

Sure you could write 10 articles a day (I have gone that route and it's not fun), or you could do what I said, show people something amazing, and build a list. That's the easier route.

I've read in Digit's "fastrack to web advanced" that blogging a day keeps the doctor away. blogging definitely lets you cool down if the blog is of personal kind etc.But tech blog is very demanding, you've got to dig the latest scoops before any other blog writes about it. There is a thought which constantly goes through mind - 'What will I publish next'. So I think tech blogging leads to stress, all other types of blog lets you relax. And when it comes to making money I think blogging should be done for the passion of it. Anyway money is needed to host the blog, internet charges, electric bills etc. But it never should be for money alone otherwise it would be reflected in the posts and the blog won't be successful.

@Kathryn, I agree blogs can be monetized but having a blog for the pure reason of making money online just doesn't cut it. We've to wait and see as to how the blogosphere comes up with this harsh truth in the coming days..

Great post! I definitely think that blogging should be done primarily because you love doing it, not because you want to get rich at it. However, I do think that there's a lot of money to be made in the business - especially in tech blogging which I've been doing for some time. I think the key if you're going to do it full-time is to approach it as a business, create a business and marketing plan for your blog and hire help so that you don't have to be online all of the time in order to get those big scoops. Of course, that costs money but most businesses require investment in order to turn a profit.

Nice post.... completely agree with "Blogging = Stress"...however there are many good things that only a blogger can learn... blogging should not be all about making money (though it is required to live life)...it should be a passion...it should be a fun... it's should be a learning... otherwise one can't succeed...

"“Content is the King” and it is the quality that matters not the quantity" Absolutely correct.
