Vista Transformation Pack 8 Will Make Win XP Look Like Vista
If you are a sucker for beautiful and organized desktop, then I’m sure you love the all new UI that Microsoft brought with Windows Vista. But I know a lot of you might not want to install Vista just for its looks, if you are one of those people who love the stability and features that Windows XP offers, but you want to have the Vista look, then Vista Transformation Pack is for you.
The Developers of Vista Transformation Pack have just released the latest in the series of the Transformation packs and this time, it makes your Windows XP install look like a complete ditto of Windows Vista Ultimate, with all the drop shadows, reflections, and all the other eye candy that you see in Windows Vista.
The latest version, i.e. version 8 brings a lot of new stuff. Some of the important additions are :
- Added TrueTransparency 0.8.5 to bring Aero glass-like transparency effects
- Added WinFlip 0.42 to emulate Vista Flip3D
- Added CPU speed to welcome center
- Updated Vista Sidebar to version 2.3 Lite
I installed it on my spare machine and it worked like a charm. But I would recommend that you set up a System restore before you install Vista Transformation Pack, just incase something goes wrong. From my past experiences with VTP, the uninstaller of VTP doesn’t work perfect, so you might to need to restore your system to a previous state to get back the Vanilla Windows look, incase you decide to remove Vista Transformation Pack..

Well this thing is really an Eye candy if used correctly
to get the optimum looks without compromising on memory
go to configure user account in the vista transformation pack welcome center and in the 'optimizing setup configuration' choose-'keep stability and performance as top priority'
plus if u have windows blinds then in the theming engine option choose aero style instead Visual Style
you can avoid all the slowing down if during installation u choose to merge vista os into windows instead of install into windows
this is really bullshit ....it slowed down my pc even if i have a dual core pc with 1 gb ram and 256 mb graphics card and clock speed of 2.8 ghz

I've never had any problems with vista either. People say bad stuff about vista but i heard some of those same things about xp when it come out. Now those same ppl swear by it. we all just get attached to our os and don't want to change. i like change
Try Stardock's Object Desktop. Does Vista and a whole lot more. I'm using the Mac OS X GUI on Vista. It's sweet. And it works. http://www.stardock.com
When I want to open the VTP8 file, it just report a faul. I cant even open it really, and it wont let me install it.
I have tryed several 8 versions and 7 versions. None of them will start up??
Can somebody help me?
Orbit....that's your opinion. The world does not revolve around your opinion. Most people use Vista or XP of all computers in the world, so don't expect them to heed to your views.
I use Vista, love it and will never switch to anything else, linux or mac.
If you can create a better o/s yourself than Vista, than put your money where your mouth is.
Why in the world would anyone want to emulate one of the worst o/s's to come down the pike since Milennium ?
I tried version 6 for a while but found it really just slowed things down without adding anything I was really happy with. Oh, and the uninstall didn't completely remove everything - I still have the vista style on my shutdown options box and most of the icons it replaced are still there as well.

this shit ant working only got me a virus
