Demonoid is Dead – Site Pulled down by CRIA

This is shocking isn’t it. The Biggest loss to the Bit Torrent world is here. Demonoid is dead and is no longer available for anyone in the world. The CRIA managed to put pressure on the company renting servers to Demonoid and its been pulled down.
Here is what the message on the site reads :
The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.
This is one of the biggest losses that we have seen to Torrent Network after OiNK was shutdown. The Pirate Bay seems to be the only tracker that has been able to withstand all kinds of legal pressure.
I just hope that Demonoid is backup and running soon on some alternate servers in some country like Sweden..
I wonder if Demonoid will be able to get itself back and running.. Lets all pray, so that we have our favorite Tracker Demonoid back online.
Thanks Sindhu
I sent money each month to demonoid for a couple years, as did many other users just to not have to watch the ads. They made tons of money. I heard from a lawyer that it was hundreds of millions of dollars for each owner. It turns out that they weren't shut down, they shut it down, they just decided they had enough money to retire on and live like kings.
So that's it, you won't see them come back. Must be nice.
I am still hopeful that it will be up again soon. The torrent world won;t be the same without it. :(
its kinda strange though, the message on demonoid website does not sound like a goodbye to me. i am [wishfully] concluding that they already made a backup plan when CRIA blocked their Canadian traffic, which is yet to be seen; or maybe I am being too positive I don't know.
I wonder how long will it take before PirateBay comes up their own P2P thing... folks from MPAA and RIAA will be screwed, if that happens
Jesus Christ! I can't believe it! It is so terrible when a good tracker gets brought down, I was a member since god only knows when. I know those guys are resourceful, but with Oink being brought down and TV-links guy being arrested, I wonder if they will even bother. I really do hope so, it is just too much to lose, god knows our private torrenters are dwindling.
