Flickr to get Online Photo Editing Tools

logo_homeAccording to Techcrunch Flickr will very soon be getting basic photo editing tools from Picnk, that happens to be one of the most popular sites that edit photos. This when implemented would mean that Flickr users get a host of ways to edit their photos. I am sure that will be a great hit with the users, since the current photo editing tools on Flickr are limited to Image rotation and cropping.

picnik-logo Picknik on Flickr would mean, I can edit photos using the powerful Picnik photo editor and edit my photos. Flickr Users can do more than just rotating their photos on a new Flickr photo editor which includes Picnik’s flash based photo editor. After editing, users can either add it as a new photo to their album or overwrite the existing photo (pro users only). The integration is expected to finish in the next few months.

This brings me back to serious question. This feature has been one of the most requested on Flickr for ages now, and I wonder why Yahoo didn’t bother to implement until now. I guess a better option would be to acquire Picnik and integrate it tightly with Flickr.

I can’t wait to see photo editing in my Flickr Account, Come on Yahoo, do something fast. !
