Torrentfreak reports that Demonoid has been down for the past 24 Hours, that includes both the main site and the tracker. For those of who are hearing about Demonoid for the First time, let me tell you something about it.

Demonoid is a fully private Bittorrent tracker and is one of the most popular trackers in the pirate world after thepiratebay.  While the exact reason for the downtime is not known, Torrentfreak thinks that it is because of the Canadian ISP pulling the plugs upon it due to pressure by the CRIA.

I See no reason to think that Demonoid is down forever. It will be back up and running very soon. Trust me. When an Old timer like Suprnova can come back then why not Demonoid. These efforts on Anti Piracy companies and governments will go no far, simply because piracy is here to stay. Shutting down Demonoid for a few days will have no impact on the volume of BitTorrent traffic, and Demonoid will be back shortly and with more interest and new users than ever before.
