A Cool Way to Have Flickr on your Desktop
Flickr is by far the most popular photo sharing web app today. With over a million photos, browsing Flickr is the best way to pass your time. What else than having Random Flickr Photos appear as your screensaver on your Windows PC. Yes and we have Slickr that makes your screensavers come alive.

Slickr is a free and open source application that brings the ever so awesome “Flickr” galleries to, yes..your desktop! Now some obtrusive nerds may say “OMG like wtf is new about that?” My reply is “Nothing. Slickr is just fun to use…as it doesn’t involve complex desktop hacks or hour of registry forging.” Slickr uses OpenGL and can show images sorted according to Tags, User Name, Favorites, Set,Contacts, Interestingness etc. The only hard part in setting up slickr must be getting the application key. But if you’ve used any other external services with Flickr (like Flickr uploadr or and 3-rd Party apps that uses the Flickr API) previously then you must already be familiar with the application key. Here how to do all that:
- Install Slickr
- After installing, to use Slickr, you must obtain an application key here. Then go to the Control Panel > Display > Slickr > Settings > Key tab and paste the key and the secret into the specified fields.
Once you are done with all these just preview the Screensaver and watch some cool photos roll into your desktop and make sure you call your neighbours to watch the show too, they’ll be amazed by Slickr and Flickr. Now Here are some screenshots of Slickr :

So go ahead and Download Slickr today and bring alive your desktop.
