Windows Live Hotmail Down

This weekend many Hotmail users have been reporting problems in accessing their accounts. They are getting errors like Server is Temporarily Unavailable etc.. while they try to log into their accounts.Microsoft acknowledged the problems immediately. Confirmation of the email service’s downtime served to inform frustrated users of what was happening, but they still had to wait a few hours before Windows Live Hotmail was up and running again. Microsoft announced that only a limited group of users were impacted, having been locked out of their accounts.

“Just wanted to let everyone know we’re aware of the difficulties accessing Hotmail/Live Hotmail right now – you may get “Server is Temporarily Unavailable” when logging in. We’re working hard right now to restore service to all users, and we apologize for the inconvenience,” reads a message from Microsoft Email Support Space on July 27.

While Hotmail is back into action now and is working fine, but still there is official reason from Microsoft as to what exactly happened. But Microsoft has denied any loss of data.

    Today is April 22, 2009 and I have been without my hotmail for two weeks. I have the white page. I can sign in and then it just doesn't come on. PLEASE HELP. What is the problem and why can't hotmail help us? If i lose my mail (some very important) I will sue. I definitely am going to change my e-mail to somewhere else. HELP

    Windows Live Hotmail is not up. I am still getting a message that I do not have a hotmail e-mail account, would I like to sign-up for one. When I go to register my e-mail address, it indicates that account is already taken, duh!!!

    My hotmail account opens and says it is done but all I have is a white screen with a hotmail tab at the top. Am I the only one with this problem right now? And does anyone know if or when it comes back will I have all my save emails?

    FYI, this seems similar to a similar problem with Windows Update. Installing the scripting engine from this web page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836948 solved this problem for me.

    When I tries login on my email add which i have been using for the past >8 years , am getting that my mail add does not exist and after many login attempts i get that my account is locked, this has been happening for the last few days... Can Anyone help me here . Thanks

    I get a white screen. Sometimes when I refresh I can get in. Got in 1 time out of 10 attempts tonight. I really need to get in right now. Please fix it.

    When will this end. Just because some Marketing dept links up with a few techies, they think up all the 'new' and 'enhanced customer experiences' for their public. I have had a hotmail account for over 10 years now and this has been the worst period by far. Repeated attempts to access are just met with a blank screen.

    The guys should be fired as they do more harm than good for microsoft.

    My Hotmail account is currently inaccessible. Ever since the Windows up-grade (so-called) my account freezes once or twice a day. Typical of the mess Microsoft makes of its systems. Will check out gmail but NEED ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT. Microsoft, what gives?

    Guys consider shifting over to gmail.

    same issues as janet, pasword seems ok then the page cant open. seems like microsoft needs to remember the valuble lesson "if it aint broke dont fix it".

  • aaargh - so i'm not alone in this - haven't been able to access the "new" hotmail since Monday and there seems to be no offical word on the problem!!!
  • Yes Hotmail has been down for quite a while. I for one personally feel that gmail is better..

    Varied messages, such as 'Unable to locate message', essentially from this afternoon I can neither send nor receive messages via Outlook Express, nor log onto my account via your website.

    Hotmail has served me very well over the years and it is a great disappointment that you have got involved with Windows - which from the very start is living up to its reputation for problems.

    Can access title page and input both address and password, next, blank screen appears and does not load.
