Shiira is probably one of the best designed web browsers I have probably seen for the Macintosh operating system. Shiira is webkit based browser and is written in Cocoa. One thing is for sure, its killer features make Shiira a much better browser than the native Safari on a Mac. Also Shiira is better than Firefox on a Mac too.
Here are some of its uber cool features :
- RSS support
- Page holder
- An Awesome sidebar design
- Sound effects and font smoothing enabling/disabling for better accessibility for anyone
- Tab Exposé
- Page transition effect (Tiger only)
- Switching browse mode in the toolbar
- Private browsing support
- Firefox bookmarks handling
Here are some beautiful screenshots of the Shiira Browser :

You can check the number of unread articles on the Dock icon, and bookmarks bar and menu. In addition, Shiira supports Growl notification for incoming articles.

The most impressive feature of Shiira happens to be the Tab Exposé feature. Tabbed browsing is useful, but you can’t the open all pages at once. Instead of showing tiny thumbnails on the side or over the tabs, Tab Exposé displays all open tabs the same way that Exposé shows all open windows.

OSX Tiger provides a powerful graphic library called Core Image. Shiira uses Core Image for page transition effects, and it looks awesome and uber cool.
